Maarit (Inu) Melvasalo was a guest researcher in WCTG from June 1998 to June 1999. During this period, she developed with Tommi Makelainen a C/Matlab SIMULINK testbed for the UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access (UTRA) system. She also studied multiuser detection schemes for third-generation wireless systems. She works at VTT Information Technology in Helsinki, Finland.
